VHHA places a high priority on cultivating strong leadership to advance Virginia’s hospitals and health systems in pursuit of the Board’s vision to make Virginia the healthiest state in the nation.
To further this mission, VHHA Foundation will host “Hospitals & Healthcare in Virginia — A Briefing for New Hospital Executives” for member systems. This program has been a successful offering for several years, providing new hospital and health system executives with a valuable orientation to Virginia’s healthcare landscape. The 2025 session will begin on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by a networking reception. On Wednesday, January 28, participants will have the option to participate in Hospital Lobby Day at the General Assembly Building in the morning, and our program will resume at 12:00 with lunch and conclude at 3:00 p.m.
Participants will gain insight into the organizations and resources that support care delivery in the Commonwealth, meet state leaders who influence health policy, and become familiar with the tools and services available through VHHA and its affiliates. With a new administration taking office, this year’s program is especially important for executives to begin building relationships with Virginia’s executive and legislative leadership and to understand the policy priorities that will shape healthcare in the years ahead. Participants who gain the most from this experience tend to be new to leadership positions within their hospital or health system, or seasoned executives who are new to Virginia.
As part of our commitment to members, there is no registration fee for this program. Attendees will be responsible for booking their hotel reservations at the Richmond Marriott Downtown using a group discounted rate.
